Good advice Tim! Thanks for sharing it. My OCD makes me want to fix all the color and squiggly lines when I seen them, so I am going to give this a try.

Late to the party but thought I’d share a thought. 100% agree with defending the flow at all costs. I’ve worked out that I have to get away from the computer altogether. Write free hand with my remarkable 2 (other writing tablets are available but I need one that doesn’t do anything other than read or write .. no iPad for me). Write the whole thing just as you describe, hit convert to text, run through an edit then send to the computer for edit, proof and publish. Weirdly I find myself more creative when I’m not touching a keyboard too.

Couldn't agree more. I somehow figured this out in college, flow is too important. Great to have a reminder though, funny how many distractions snuck in since I figured this out.

Getting distracted by Grammarly and spell checks are the bane of my life. I think I will try without them for a while. Good advice.

Also, "all the visual panache of a DOS terminal." was a lovely turn of phrase for an old DOS user like me. Good stuff

I stopped everything I was doing to read this. Indeed, I will play with some variation of this advice. Thank you for offering it.
