I work from home full time, and have for years. I find meeting with video much, much more productive than just audio. Reading people's expressions makes my job much easier. In addition, working remote without video is much more isolating. It feels like being trapped in a box by yourself for hours every day.
I hear ya. Zoom and its ilk very definitely have their place and I use them regularly (twice today!). But I've also seen them used for very poor reasons in very bad ways, too.
YEESSSSS to all of this. I abhor this term. If people are doing the work they were hired to do, they are doing their job, they are not “quitting” If a manager thinks they should be doing over and above what they were hired to do, that is a discussion between the people involved.

Tim: well said and observed. Good points all.
